Anatomy

A small pea-shaped carpal seated in front of the triquetral inside the flexor carpi ulnaris tendon — a sesamoid that improves the muscle's leverage and shields the nearby ulnar nerve in Guyon canal. This is the left member of the pair.

Clinical notes

Pain at the palmar wrist base after leaning on the hand strikes pisiform and ulnar nerve together; its fracture hurts especially on forceful grip.
